Well I've now built my new machine (spec in sig), so I'll be ramping back up shortly, before seeing what I can do to overclock :)

Whilst I don't really want to do SLI, I have thought that I have a spare PCI-E slot that I could put a dedicated folding GPU in, does anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably cheap card that gives a decent amount of points?
 
Well I think I need some help in tweaking my configs, got some machines that aren't meeting the deadlines and others are passing them way too easily. Will start a new thread about it at some point soon when i've got some spare time!!

Sounds good. I could always swipe the one from my GF's machine and give her a cheeky upgrade :)

So I had my first overnight folding on my new rig (had stability/temp issues with the previous overclocks) and found that my PPD has leapt up to 35k :cool: Must admit I don't know much about the SMP WUs, can someone explain what the bonus points system is about? The base credit is not that much but it seems the quicker you do them the better?
 
Anyone know if its possible to upload a unit without downloading a new one, linux v6 client:confused:

-oneunit flag is the only thing I can think of, but if your client has stopped with no work it will download another. You could also remove -bigadv and pick up a normal smp which I guess wouldn't take you too long.
 
If you stop the client, start it with the -oneunit it will finish, then upload but not get another. If you are using langouste there is also a flag

Sorry I should be more specific :)

I had put the passkey in, and I've done the SMP WUs already to start earning bonus points. One of the WUs that was finished last night gave me the base points but not the bonus, I was expecting to have the bonus by now! :(

Thinking about it, how can I tell if I've done 10 SMP WUs? :P
 
Never mind, I'm being stupid :) I thought I could just put any passkey in, but of course you have to get one from Stanford themselves :D
