Welcome to the new look news! I've pasted the news into the thread, but since there are no tables / html formatting in vbulletin it is a little hard to read :(, so I've also added as a link at the bottom the formatted version as it comes out of the news creator.

Some bits such as the ones to watch I'm still doing manually for the moment until I work out the SQL, and I still need to work out how to do the stomps as well. The "Increase" column ie the difference in your weekly dumpage from the week before should populate next week. The data is taken at midnight every Thursday night.

Long term plan:
In October I will be moving my personal website to a different host, as my current package is pretty out dated, and I can move to a multi site with MySQL dbs for similar to what I'm paying now. When this happens I'll move the news creation site from my home server to the web, with cron jobs downloading the data and filling in the tables. Because the site only takes data from team 10 users once a week, I shouldn't have any problems with storage. Then the news will be able to be created by anyone, from anywhere.:cool:

Any suggestions and feedback are much appreciated, also if anyone wants to join the single machine league let me know, I don't want to be at the bottom any more! :p

Ta for the news dekez.

Could you drop a copy of the PHP files your using for the news generator and a schema for your MySQL tables and I'll have a play with the increase from previous week and maybe tart it up a bit.
 
Cheers FN, any suggestions for improvements would be great.

The increase works fine, it's just that it needs 3 weeks worth of data to run and there are only 2 weeks so far, so next week it will show.

If you send me a trust message and I'll reply with the files to your email after work. You'll have to excuse my coding, it's a little messy, some things (such as that you can use php variables directly in the sql query function) I didn't work out until half way through :o, so there are a fair few pointless concatonations which I mean to clean up at some point. Any tips on how I can improve the php code in general would also be greatly appreciated, part of the reason for doing this was to learn php and SQL.

Will do mate, the ones to watch section you need what exacty is it you mean. Users that have had say a sudden incease in PPD?

I'll sift through and tidy up the PHP and if there's anythig you've done a little odd I'll clean it up.

Well looks like that is it for me folks! Shutdown my two 24/7 folding systems last night *sniff* :(... I'm sure I'll do a bit in dribs and drabs for stability testing but I think that is me done for 24/7 folding, at least for now.

Thanks for everything guys, the help, advice... at least my wallet can breathe a sigh of relief for now! ;)

Hope to see you back again at some point, at least to put up some resistance to me stomping you in a few months time :D :p
 
I tried i really did, less than 4 hours left and boom it through a hissy fit 2 days worth of adv wasted. Will wallow in self pity and start again tommorrow now i know how you guys feel when it goes wrong :mad:

Actually just noticed that none of the new users are showing up in the weekly dumpage, probably it is not liking taking away a null value as there was no record the week before, I shall look into sorting that as well :)

I'm a new member but not a new user, I've been folding for another team, but have decided to take a break, so thought it would be a good opportunity to fold for you guys, something I always felt like doing. It will be only for few weeks though. :(
 
You never know you might like it here ;), another good point new members is more accurate than new users, updated for next week.

I've corrected this now, new members now appear in the weekly dumpage and are included in the active members total.

edit: added the bb formatting to the output and added colours to help distinguish between the numbers - idea shamelessly stolen from the Seti news :o

Hi BrownSparrow, and thanks. I have rigs, 3 clients, main 2 doing bigadvs are an i7-980x and an i7-970, I also have an older type i5 doing standard smps.

I go away for one long weekend and it all goes mad, no bigadv, no seti, no cpdn:(

Just lots of primegrid and dnetc( both my backup 0 rated projects)
