My GTX660 appears to be faulty, crashing my games, and may have been the cause of my incorrect PPD readings. Failing WU's perhaps?

Have opened up an RMA and have a 570 folding away for the time being.

Anyone know how to get the most out of an i7 930 on F@H? Any advanced settings, tweaks, rules or flags I should apply?

At the moment I have it set to client-type advanced with -bigadv and -advmethods flags, and i'm getting just under 9000 out of it at stock.

I think it may be because the WU was started before applying the flags and options, but what kind of PPD should I expect from it at stock and at say 3.6 - 4.0GHz?

-bigadv will do precisely nothing with a 930 as it needs more cores/threads than you have (I think it's 24 now) and I'm not sure the other flags will make any difference at all. I would have thought you should be getting at least 30k PPD when you clock the CPU and probably nearer 40k. Have you used task mangler to make sure all the threads are at 100%? Have you completed ten or more WUs with a passcode installed?

I'll remove the flags then. This is the first WU on that system, but I do have a passcode installed.

Across the various systems I have been using for folding in the past, I have over 1400 completed WU's and they are all under the same account name.

I'll just check what the threads are up to~

*edit* F@H is using 99.7% of the CPU at the minute. CPU is maxed out at 100% usage overall.

Hopefully more to come from me; been looking at a budget dedicated folding rig for a while. As my main rig is AMD-centric, my scores aren't as high as I would like!

Well i'm back at it, says i'm good for 63k PPD.
Decided against putting the GTX460 back in due to noise, i am on the look out for another 670 though that can be watercooled.

Need to wait for the KFA2 to come in stock the EK block fits that fine.

And at the minute i have a spare 1155 board, 8GB memory and a GTX460, in work have access to a 500w psu and case, so a cpu and windows and i can set up another folder.

i3 or a Gxxx second hand from ebays would be a good bet?

even £50 gets you a brand new dual core sandy bridge / ivy bridge from the Pentium range
