On the bright side - I don't intend on keeping it for long.

Once (or if) I make it too third place - I'm going to transfer over to some of the other projects I've been neglecting for the past 12 month.

So, you'll be able to reclaim your spot and then third.

It's spotless! :D

Cheers :) I was going to downsize after this battle, get rid of a rig and start doing boinc again as well, but maybe I'll hang on a bit longer have a taste of 3rd place, at least for a little while :)
 
Ive just moved over to Native Linux, well Mint 12 to be exact, so much nicer than windows although i havent touched linux for ~5 years its coming back slowly with regards to console commands :D

Thanks for the news, Dekez. Please would you take me out of the single machine league for the moment. My room's cold so I'm folding on three PCs for a little while. It'll also make up for the losses over the last couple of weeks and give me a little push towards Big Stan and Speed.

I suspect positions will be swapped back and fourth for a few days - looks like I'll drop in around 1M points over the next two days - depending what I pick up you may be able to get your cell back for a day or so.

I estimate that I will be moving into third spot in 4 days give or take a few hours......

Hey Dekez,

I managed to move you out of your cell for 3 hours - until the noon update....

Just uploaded another 250k wu so I expect to be moving back in at 3pm - unless you have something up your sleeve.

Gonna remove my gpu's later - new thermal compound and reseating of heatsinks - but will up the i7 990x performance to compensate.

I have ordered another 6Gb RAM (3 x 2GB GSkill Tridents 2000MHz - had a quick blast on BOINC early yesterday but was running out of memory) - so once that arrives I'll be moving everything over to SETI, Rosetta, CPDM etc etc at twhich point you'll be free to take third place (not before I do though :D).

It's been a good race - one I very much enjoyed.

Gonna wait untill the EVGA SR-X is released before making a decision on next rig (dedicated folder) - prices should drop on AMD side so should make things interesting (but also need to find out which version of windows will run four sockets if I decide AMD - I can't have a PC that don't run windows).

Congrats sir, it has been an epic and thoroughly enjoyable battle, I'm amazed that after so long there was only days in it at the end.

I've nothing up my sleeve, in fact over the weekend I dismantle one rig which is now in the mm. I'm going to be moving in the summer so starting to cut down on my stuff now and will upgrade once I'm settled again. It will be good to get 3rd in the end :)

I agree with you, linux is a pain in the arse! :p
 
Would you look at that - removed the three GTX 560's (448 Cores) and my ppd dropped by less than 30k......

Just goes to show how much the CPU's are worth ;)

Not doing any gaming anytime soon so I may put them up in MM or the Bay of E.....

Ive got a 8101 on Hydra at the mo pulling just under 11min per frame and showing 210k ppd on hfm:(
 
Sounds like the new 16 Core WU's need a little tweaking points wise......

Good job I didn't settle on an AMD Quad Socket solution just yet (or any other for that matter).


Edit: Just got more memory for PC - installed it at same settings as current memory (same type of memory).....

Ran for a bit ok then lost the bigadv it was working on (@90%) - knew I should have waited til later :(

Looks like I'm gonna have to reset the overclock to find a new stable setting.......

Further Edit: As of 6:00pm 09/02/2012 I am third overall within Team 10 :D
