News! Enjoy :)

Thanks for news, I have a question for you all.

I was reading the review of 980ti over on AnandTech and they say in conclusion that owners of 780 should see 70% increase in performance so worth changing.
However it says that owners of 780Ti should just wait and upgrade once Pascal arrives in 2016.
I have 780Ti Sli and was contemplating swapping them for 980Ti Sli but I use mine for Folding and use 970 Sli for gaming at 1440p.

I noticed that the 780Ti outguns even TX and 980Ti in double precision due to the architecture. Are Folding and or BONIC using double precision more than single?

I'm just trying to figure out if its worth trading up from 780Ti to 980Ti, please advise.

Folding@home only uses single-precision computations. So double-precision is meaningless for comparisons with F@H. FAHBench offers single, double, explicit, and implicit tests, but the only test that matters is single-precision implicit.

Some Boinc projects like Milkyway@Home use Double precision, which is why AMD cards always spanked Nvidia as they were stronger at double precision until Titan came out.

thanks for the new. i running stuff a bit higher speed on my 970's and i've added my 7970 back into the mix underclocked to 950mhz and running on 1.1v instead of the stock 1.25v

Ok man thanks for the explanation :)

Nice jump Jumper118 :) Bigggg gap to catch me now but its doable as im having a break, just aiming to stay in top 1000. Keep it going if you can.
i have got a good increase of points from core 18's on my 970's as well now. it can never go fast enough now though, because i lost my grandad yesterday :(

Hey mate, really sorry to hear that. Lost my grandmother recently so understand what you and your family are going through.
