------------------------------

STILL ON THE UP!
we have managed to increase our production a bit more. starting to catch up with the other teams above us. making a little bit more of a dent on their progress every day.

the SR2 folding has made a big difference. and there has been a noticable increase from a lot of users, well done guys :)

i know a lot of people are away on holiday at the moment so this streak of good weeks can hopefully only get better.

try to encourage folding throughout the forum as much as you can, our team is doing well and more active users can only improve this performance.

dekez is back next week so he will be taking over for the news again, he does it better than me anyway ;)

FOLD ON 10 :D

A warm welcome to the team :)

GAYYYYYYYYYYYYY

captain lol is loling

Good output yet again, nice to see we are back to position 40. I had a few powercuts at my house but hasn't stopped my production much so all is safe. Just need to break the teams above us now. We need more SR-2s!

And more members hehe.

I'll quite happily run an SR-2 for you but you would have to donate the required parts for me to run it on behalf of team 10.

Joking aside my output should now start to back up im back home and not reliying on the other half to keep my systems running.
Also need to do a full software reset on main system which should stop it crashing out every few hours when unattended.

SR-2.. yum... :D And the leccy

On other notes I've had a bad week of hardware outages some not my fault, some very much my fault. But according to HFM I'm back on track to 80K+ PPD.

Now to get weebeastie resurrected...

Stand by for some build logs coming to a forum near you!

Something I will look out for.. :)

I'm away from home again until next wednesday and don't know where in the world I will be living from October onwards. So zero production now and uncertain times for my folding future.

Another great week for the team excellent effort guys, I'm back in a couple of days :( so will be able to up my production again.

Many thanks for covering the news rjkoneill, great job and much appreciated :)

Thanks for the impressive news once again RJK. Your stint in the breach have been appreciated:)
With SETI being down my Folding prod. will be up:)
Had thought about a 460 after seeing the price drop but I don't think it will make that much difference for the money spent. [ I have a 260] Plus my 182 case is holding the heat in due to the recent increase in o/cing & a hotter card won't help:(
New case or Corsair H2O? [room 21.3 inside case mid level 31.6]

OK weebeastie still not stable, need more volts!

Good news is that Rev 2 of the P6T7 with the extra molex on the motherboard means that the 24pin connector doesn't get red hot to touch anymore :) (or melt the pins)

Right, did a few adjustments on weebeastie's voltages. Lets see how she goes for a test run.

Bad news is that it won't live with bigadv plus three GPU3 Fermi clients, good news is that I think I can balance it so that it will do regular A3 WU's plus 4 GPU3 Fermi clients with minimal PPD loss.

Still not happy with the performance of the GPU3 client. Also a strange occurance, if I up the overclock on the cards some of them drop down to between 50-70% GPU usage

What I've found/done:

1. Set the command line clients like so:
a) CPU
(i) Priority idle
(ii) Disable CPU affinity lock
b) GPU
(i) Priority low
(ii) Disable CPU affinity lock

2. Use WinAFC to manage the priorities and affinities.
a) GPU
(i) Set the cards to priority=BelowNormal (this is one higher than the low in the client config)
(ii) Give them a real core rather than a HT one, i.e. CPU6 instead of CPU7
b) CPU
(i) Set priority=unchanged (because we dont need to change it)
(ii) Give it the rest of the cores 0-7 excluding 6 which we have given the cards.

e.g. From weebeastie.txt (WinAFC config file)

## Application Profile lines
## GPU Apps
*\FahCore_15.exe := CPU6 [priority=BelowNormal]
## CPU Apps
*\FahCore_a3.exe := CPU0+CPU1+CPU2+CPU3+CPU4+CPU5+CPU7 [priority=unchanged]

Seems to be working ok anyway, early days. Want it 100% stable so probably more tweaking with the voltages. But currently temps are very good, circa 68° on the CPU and 50° on GPUs

Results: Weebeastie and weebeastie+my other rigs

Plugging away quite merrily. No major issues and nothing much to report this week. I'll content myself with the fact that I had the highest output from someone without access to loads of other people's hardware :p (That's not a dig btw - in case anybody thinks it is. I salute rjk and Nath for using their initiative. I am also pleased to see that they're testing the OcUK hardware properly using real life tests that stress the hardware properly. IMO, if a rig can Fold 24/7, it's properly stable - forget Prime or OCCT etc.).

I'm currently waiting for hardware for a little upgrade project I'm undertaking. I'll post details when it's finished. Phase one won't increase my output by a huge amount but it's an exciting project that will eventually give me a big boost - once phases two and three are finished.

Good luck with Weebeastie Biffa - I hope you get him running properly. He's been a bit of a problem child up to now, hopefully the new board will get him on the straight and narrow.

Thanks for looking after the news in Dekez's absence rjk, much appreciated.
Nice to see another increase this week - good work team :)

Welcome to our dubious new member ;)

FOLD ON TEAM 10 :D

Other stats of note:
I'm now in the top 450 in the world
banana005.gif

I just did my largest dump ever yesterday garnering 188,360 points for the day.

I also will probably get murdered in my sleep over the leccy bill
Hence weebeastie is having a wee rest right now while I switch OS's... yes no more "testing" its time to knuckle down to do some real work!

Managed this tiffy so far!

Woop!

Question for you biffa, how do you manage to get all your clients listed on one instance of hfm.net? I would love to know how to do it, so I can monitor all mine from work/home etc.
