Hey all apologies for delay, here is the news for last Thursday. Congrats all on reaching 2 billion! Amazing achievement, pats on the back all round!

I'm back from hols now, Biffa - Croatia is great, cheap booze, great seafood, good snorkeling and lovely towns such as Dubrovnik. The only downside really are the beaches as they are mainly rocky, with only a few sandy ones, but it's really not that bad. We stayed on a great campsite for kids on the isle of Pag, also we've driven through Croatia camping at various places before we had a kid as well so if you need any more info just drop me a message :)
 
thanks for the news, better late than never. glad to see i was still in the top 25 even when i haven't got my dell up and running yet since i've changed out the cpu.

Stopped folding on my i5, the beta WU makes it quite insignificant now. Also the ppd is really low since I don't usually complete the WUs while I have my PC on and the points awarded are really low for completing them. Just the 7970 with the lowest volts I can get now.
 
I agree, although loudbob will soon have his amd 4p , 2 x 4p intels and he's ordered gpus, just them 2 guys alone will do ( capable of ) 5 million plus ppd , baba also has loads of 4p set ups but he is also running other projects
 
Aye, my set-up (by end of week) will hopefully be:

Intel 4P (just waiting for MB & memory to arrive)
Intel 4P
AMD 4P
2 x GTX Titan's
2 x GTX 780's
i7 990x
i7 3770K
i7 3770K
i7 2600K

And the following (until they get sold on) and if I have room on the MB's:

Congratulations on a truly awesome achievement Biffa :cool:

All appears to be well chez moi. Been away for 2 weeks now and no serious dramas. I had to turn off the CPU client on the gaming rig as it was unstable. It soon transpired that doing so didn't affect my PPD, the GPU clients worked better without it. Seeing this, I turned off the CPU client on the SR-2 as well. My PPD has actually increased since I did this so I'll be leaving the CPU clients "not on" for now.
Had a look at my stats on EOC this morning and noticed something I hadn't seen before - The last two days, I have had exactly the same score from exactly the same number of WUs:

Can't say I've ever had that happen before.

The news cut-off was just before I stomped Team_Muck_Spreader. This has now been achieved and there will be no more stomps in the near future (if ever). I think I'll probably be doing what I said in another thread and retire the Bigstan account once it passes 50 million and switch to the Stan_Lite account so I get some fun and stompage for a while.

Another good week for the team with Biffa raising the bar yet again. Be interesting to see how much loudbob's new Intel 4P stirs things up. It's all looking good for team 10 at the moment. I have some new hardware for when I get home. I'm upgrading the gaming rig to 2x GTX690s in quad sli (got myself an Asus Z77 Maximus V Extreme with some fast RAM and a shiny new TJ07 to put it all in) and I'll be watercooling all my GPUs. Not sure when I'll find time to fit 6 GPU blocks and build the loops. I get back home from work a week on Friday and I'm off on holiday the following Wednesday. I'm away for 16 days and then I have 4 days at home before I go back to work. I'll try to get as much done as I can but I have a fair amount of other stuff to do as well. A second 690 should get my PPD to over 600k (as long as the 8900 WUs continue) :cool:

**** happens. The issues I had with 4 cards was without Folding so it won't make any difference. I'm going to try a few things when I get home; like fiddling with settings etc. Now that I have the second 690, I'll try putting both of them in to see if it's an issue with 4 GPUs or whether it's 4 physical cards.

I prefer to look at it as having spent a fair bit of cash on a project I've wanted to do for some time. The fact that it didn't turn out as planned is a disappointment but I'm still glad I did it.
 
still adding my small bits and bobs. Had a breakdown in my rig though so this week doubt I'll do anything....graphics gards sparking doesnt fill me with confidence about leaving the machine running unsupervised :D

new card on the way and back soon.
 
Yep, sparks = bad.....

I had sparks coming out of my ears this morning when I found out the new memory I ordered (two weeks ago) isn't coming - would have to wait another two weeks before they even had it in stock and even that wasn't certain - so now I need to try find some alternative (from somewhere actually with stock this time).

Looks like when the new motherboard arrives tomorrow (yay) it'll have to stay in it's box - or I could possibly run both 4P rigs on half memory.....

Either way - I'll have to fire it up (not literally) just to make sure it (and the cpu's) works ;)
