Hi folks,

We are not allowed to install any programs which access the net at work but I was wondering if I copied my folding directory to my usb drive and then onto my work computer and ran it in the morning and then copied it back to my home computer at night, would it cause any problems? or would it resume from the place I got to within the unit?

I was thinking that as I'm at work all day I may as well be using my work comp to fold :p. I know we are not allowed to use 3rd party programs which access the net and the firewall on our network would block it but If I started a unit so it didn't have to access the net then it may be ok as Folding only attempts to connect when it's getting a unit or sending results.

You should have no problems doing that.

But make sure your employers are happy about it.

It's called sneakernetting and the details of how to do it properly are in the Sticky Guide

It's not so simple now that there are no deadlineless WUs to be able to queue up but you could run a couple of normal clients perhaps if you find you're ending up with a lot of idle time.
