Rich, THaD has lost it's best folder, that's the reason for our recent drop in production. Yehoshua, a sysadmin, had 20kppd sustained for more than a month. Out of nowhere he stops submitting WUs and his CPU count drops to 0. I haven't heard from him and can only presume he's on holiday.
ahhh I thought we'd just really got a move on :p

shame to hear you lost a big gun over there - still you've got quite some impressive output from the rest of the team and maybe he'll be back

Stan you have had quite a week of it - very deserved after all the extra single malt, time, and effort you've put in over the last month or so - my hat is off to you sir

i'm definately going to have to work a lot harder to keep from tumbling down the ranks - i've recently been having quite a job to stay in the top 20 crunchers  :)

Fold On!!!

We're never going to get far if this is the size of unit we get.
is that with -advmethods or not?

my two remote machines back at home are running -advmethods and i have:

Project : 2355
Core : Double Gromacs
Frames : 100
Credit : 683

and

Project : 2078
Core : GB Gromacs
Frames : 100
Credit : 244

which are turning out about 135ppd on each machine which isn't too shabby for a couple of old XP chips

on my main (and most powerful) machine i'm getting this:

Project : 1700
Core : Gromacs
Frames : 100
Credit : 56

which at it's best is giving me 112ppd :(
at least it'll be finished today :)

dude, I got my 25000 tiffy before 13th Jan 2006, 14:03! surly I should be on the list?
dagnamit! :o :p

i was sure i'd posted a couple of news' ago that i wouldn't be listing 25K tiffy's however when i checked back to last week i have indeed awarded a 25K tiffy  (rolleyes at myself there)

well 25 is a nice number so i'll add that to my official list and edit accordingly - thanks for the nudge, my mind isn't always working too well on a friday afternoon i'm afraid :p

edit: ok this is the list that i will stick to from now on
1K 2.5k 5k 7.5k 10k 15k 20k 25k 30k 40k 50k ..... 90k 100k 120k 140k ..... 180k 200k 225k 250k 275k 300k 325k etc
I will stick to every 100K for those over 1M as that seems to make sense

will these be any good do you reckon for just folding?
personally I wouldn't bother as they will probably not produce a lot of work for the leccy costs

however if they are on someone else's bill then every little helps :p

I used to fold on my brother's old P3-533 which he was using as an internet sharing machine and it did alright - however it was going to be on 24/7 anyway so didn't really add much to the cost

I would say try one and see how it goes
