hi, i want to ask what this is as i have heard it in various magazines i read and on the web a lot, i hear its to help develop future medecines by using your cpu's power or something along the lines of that.

i have a spare computer i have now which does nothing but used for msn so i would like to test this out. anywhere i can get the program?

Yeah, it definitely a worthwhile project to be doing. The research interests of the people running it can be seen here, as well as a link to downoad the client.

It would be great to have you folding for Team 10 - OcUK. Come and say hello in the DC Forums and we can talk you through everything there.

i am at college at the moment so i will download the client as soon as i get home. should be pretty interesting project to do and i dont mind adding overclockers.

your electricity bill will increase, your cpu will br running at 100% constantly adding heat to your system which could potentially kill other components or their lifespan.

is you dont mind paying for the extra electricity bill just make sure your pc case is well ventilated and has decent components

i dont mind as long as it isnt going a hell of a lot more, the case has a 80mm fan on the back and is open cased on a bottm floor near a floor with a srtong draft coming through.

i used to have 3 pc's running folding at home, 2 dual core x2's and a sempron, my bill rose up to £300 and sumfin a month, now with 2 dual core core 2 duo's and a dual core x2 all running with speedstep or cool and quiet and without folding the bill is over £100 less, at the end of the day i'd rather have £150 month in my pocket than the electric companys pocket

yeah, i wont be running folding all the time as i dont like leaving the pc alone open case near a drafty window, it is a Q-tec psu so im a bit weary. its better than donating imo as you are seeing the results in front of your eyes and can see cpu usage going to 100% quite rapidly.
