Anyone else clocked how much crunching time is lost while you wait for your computer to send the WU results, and get the next one
My lappy (core duo thingy so it's a reasonable spec) has been trying to send it's WU since 11:51. It's still not done. I need to shut the lappy down so I can go out, but I suspect I'll just corrupt 2 days of crunching if I do that now.
I've seen these lengthy delays in the logs on other PCs too. Is this just something to do with me, or is it the servers at Stanford's end?
Edit at 12:16, it finally says it's sent - now I'm waiting to see if it got new work ...
Another edit: 3 minutes later, of doing nothing, it decides to prepare to get a work unit and a minute later it's got work.
A whole half hour of wasted crunchy time
