I've just started folding@home again, and am having some speed issues. The gfx client seems to be working fine and running at a reasonable speed, but the cpu clients are taking forever to complete their first units.

I'm running 4 instances of the cpu client and locked them all to their own cpu.

They have been running for 16 hours each and still only at 37, 40, 40 and 41%

Does this sound right?

Q6600 @ 3.2 with 8gigs of ram running vista x64

That is normal for an AMD but Intel are supposed to be much quicker. My AMD does 1% per 20 minutes roughly. I would expect better unless you have opted for large advanced units.

I run 1 SMP client on my Q6600 along with the 8800GT. If you've got the gfx and 4 SMP clients, then you're just trying to do too much at once, really. Knock it down to 2 or 1 SMPs. Experiment to see what gives you the best points though.

Wheres the smp client, the only one i found was the linux one.

Looks like i got the smp version running on all 4 cores now with the gpu one as well.

Though the smp client has downloaded a monster for its first unit!

They're a lot of points, but it gets through them about 100 times faster than the standard clients.

Glad you're up and running. Welcome to Team 10!
