Hi all,
Just posting a thread about an issue I had which is now resolved, in case anyone comes across the same problem.
I recently noticed my frame times dropping on SMP2 client, Windows 7, on idle by about a third. So I figured something else was using the processor, and found out it was a svchost.exe. Anyway, turns out the svchost priority is set to Low, so it's hopefully a very simple matter of upping the SMP2 priority from Idle to Low, but possibly needs it setting up to Below Normal - will find that out in the next few hours probably.
Anyway not very exciting but I thought I'd post.
UPDATE: Upping the SMP2 priority did not help. I have now set up a batch file to up its priority to "below normal" in Task Manager and will find out tomorrow morning if this has done the trick.
UPDATE: Below normal priority seemed insufficient. I've now upped it to above normal when the computer is idling and below normal when the computer is in use, job done.
