So I've been running BOINC for almost a year now but I feel like a change is in order to folding.

I'm wondering what sort of PPD I should expect with the following:
AMD X2 4000 (On 24/7)
AMD X2 4800 (On 24/7)
AMD Phenom 9850BE @ 2.8GHz (On 24/7)
AMD Phenom II 940BE @ stock (On about 12 hours a day)

I'd primarily just use my CPU's for the work although I do have a GTX 280 in my Phenom II rig that I could put to work. What sort of points would I get from that?

EDIT: Yes, you could call me an AMD fanboy :D

My advice would be to keep your CPUs running BOINC (I notice you are one of our top contributors in Rosetta@Home) and use your 280 for folding. You can rise quickly up the folding ranks using the 280 alone.

BOINC is a lot less hassle for CPU folding and your X2's won't score that highly in F@H.

For folding, the GTX280 is by the far the biggest producer you've got there. As verbal suggests, you might consider keeping the CPUs on BOINC and run F@H on the 280 but obviously, the more machines you have folding, the higher your ppd.

Might just do that then, keep running BOINC for Rosetta and sort out folding for my 280. I presume that if I were to start a game, F@H would throttle it self down so it doesn't interfere?

Folding on a GTX 280 here. The shaders are overclocked to 1400, but apart from that its completely stock. Depending on the project, it will get anywahere between (very close to) 6000ppd to roughly 8200 ppd.

I would always turn of F@H before running a game (unless it uses almost no graphics power/older games) - it throttles down fine for watchine a DVD etc, but im not sure how well it would handle a modern, intensive game. The graphical client has a 'pause' option, which is easy enough to use and will not cause the client to interfere with gaming.

Well that was easier than I expected! Followed the link on the F@H page for the GPU2 client, downloaded it, put in my user name and team 10 and *poof*, away it went!

Now I read that the console version gives more points than the GUI version and I'm pretty sure that I'm running the GUI one. Will I get a noticable gain when using the console version over the GUI?

if you game on that machine the system tray icon is very handy - think the preformance differance is 5% but could be wrong.

See how it goes and if you get really addicted, swap the the console :D

Well I do game quite a bit so the ability to pause the work is rather useful, how easy is it to do it with the console version?

F@HMon reports that I'm getting 5256PPD

You would have to ctrl+c out of the console to quit every time you wanted to play a game. You could set up a batch file or a shortcut to start the client again though, then it would just be a few clicks to launch the client again - almost as easy as the system tray client.

PPD will depend on what your using your pc for at the time - if im watching a dvd eyc, ppd will drop by about 1000 points on the gfx card. Similarly, scrolling through loads of images will drp the ppd a bit. If you leave it alone for a while, you should start to see your max output.
