As it says. While the computer is running ubuntu, it runs the standard smp client.

I'm running windows xp for a while, so will run the gpu core on the 9600gso in the machine.

What route should I go down for the processor?

edit: should add that a brief attempt to make the windows smp behave failed, and that two of the basic cpu clients are running. Very slowly but they are running.

WinSMP should give the best return unless you want to go the VMWare route and it really shouldn't give any problems under XP. I have a PC with an E8400 & two 8800GSs under XP Pro. It runs two GPU clients and one WinSMP and it all just ticks along happily at over 9,000PPD. Did you run install.bat before trying the SMP client?

I did indeed. I was told a 4-step process to go through, then shown a command prompt which refused to let me register because my xp account doesn't have a password.
Its currently getting 1600ppd from the processor, and 3000-4000 from the 9600gso. Ill have a play with the smp client I think.
Cheers

You need a password on your account to use WinSMP. If you don't want to be prompted for the password on logon, enter 'control userpasswords2' at a command prompt and deselect 'Users must enter a username and password to use this computer'.
