Font looks blurred in firefox?

Yeah, but most of the book explains the very basic stuff. It doe goes into a bit of detail about Cocoa, Carbon and Java system architecture and things like that.

Nope, pretty basic stuff in there.

There's more advanced books such as "Practical Guide to UNIX for Mac OS X Users" and things like that, "The Mac OS X Command Line: Unix Under the Hood" is a very good book too.

I downloaded firefox last night (although I'm not going to use it now) but I have a 0kb firefox file on my desktop now and I can't get rid of the damn thing? If I try and drag it to the recycle bin it say's unable to eject?

Any idea's..

Works fine in Firefox under mac osx for me.
and just tried it in safari and its also fine.
just tried in IE7 admittedly interface is better.

I configured Mail to use with my OWA account so i dont check it much online anyway.

maybe you can set up a Mail account as well, having it go straight to the inbox on comp is so much more convenient then having to login online.

There is no denying it works in Firefox and Safari, but my god is it harder to use!

I'll be using Entourage 2008 once its finally out (not long now), but until then I'll stick with IE7.

Restart usually helps stuff like this. Tried that?

Well I must say the more I use this Macbook the more I love it :D

I've had a look at the switcher sticky and downloaded and installed a few things, but can I ask what is the preferred DVD playing application is? VLC?

Thanks guys ;)

Things you'll need..

VLC (The ultimate media player.. incredibly versatile)
Flip4Mac (Gives Quicktime & Web browser(s) the ability to play WMVs)
Perian (Think of it as a mini codec pack.. allows Front Row to play XviD/DivX/tricky formats natively)

For DVDs I'll use the built in DVD player, unless there's a problem or it's Region A/1
