font question

i've been looking for a font and i think i've found it, but what is the difference between all these different versions? :confused:

Some are TrueType for Windows, some are PostScript for Windows, and then then Postscript for Mac.

ok, but what is the difference between the first two for instance? the descriptions look exactly the same to me (both postscript for windows).

and what is the difference between LT and not-LT?

Some are Windows / Mac / Ps or Truetype.

But some seem identical.

Linotype and none-Linotype.

thanks. still confused about which one i actually need, but i think they'll all probably do the job. i just need it for my sites title on the banners, so it's not like i need to worry about using it in word, or printing it.
