Anyone going to see the Foo Fighters this Sunday at Lancashire Cricket club. Every time the foo fighters have been round I have missed them for some reason but the Bro In law came through with tickets for this Sundays gig. Supported by The Eagles of Deathmetal & The Strokes. Hopefully I should be able to get some pics.

Anyone else going or seen them this summer at all ?

I'm going with the GF indeed, can't wait.

Saw them last year when they did the secret gig at the Astoria warming up for Reading, that sort of gig you hear about but never get tickets ;)

This time they are not promoting an album so should have a good mix of trackc new and old I hope.

A mate at work is going. He's a bit worried he might get lost getting there though :D
Certainly envying him for getting to go :)

Whos support at the Manchester gig. I hear it's The Strokes and The Eagles of Death Metal.

Hopefully get some good pics regardless :D

Heh I got offered tickets for this from work but turned them down due to the weather :p Plus I'm not really a massive foo fan. Love the strokes but I've seen them twice already this year. Went to see Razorlight/Ashcroft yesterday though at Lanky and it was a great day, fantastic weather :D

P.S - The bar/food organisation is a completely and utter joke! (As is with most large vanues). Why they don't add more bars is beyond me. The toilets are a laugh too, even the girls resorted to just squatting behind bins yesterday :p

Wow just got home from the Gig.

Regardless of the rain it was an amazing show. Support were as follows

Angels of Death Metal - OK
The Subways - Pretty good and tight set. Crowd really responded to them
Angels & Airwaves - Worst support of the lot. Just very down tempo and tried to get the crowd involved in some pseudo BS about the war etc
The Strokes - Pretty Good. Played all the favourites and really got the crowd going

An now for the real feast :D

After standing for nearly ten hours Came the Foo Fighters. Me and my three mates were lucky enough to get pretty close to the stage. Partially due to the rain. The crowd were rocking from start to finish and it was a great atmosphere. Best songs for me were

D.O.A.
Everlong
Monkey Wrench
Breakout
One by One

Promise of a new Album after this tour and DG also said the crowd was better than Hyde Park as well so nurr ;)

Will upload some vids and pics tomorrow morning

Yeah, but when don't we hear this?! :o

I thought the Foo's were fantastic, they always put on a great show. I really enjoyed The Strokes too, though the crowd didn't seem to get into them as much and the frontman sounded a bit depressed/unenthusiastic ;)

Angels & Airwaves was an absolute joke, though I had some fun booing them. "America loves your country" *throw up* "We're no pop band, we're rock and roll, we can change the world!" *puke* "The rain is so beautiful!" *sick*

Ah well, overall was fantastic. The rain was a nice cool down anyway  Ended up waiting in picadilly train station till 2 o'clock though, due to the metroline not running after end of gig.

I'm glad they played. One of them had some black death in his throat which has kept them away from touring for quite a while, and I want to see them come Reading.

one of my mates managed to blag vip passes so aside from getting his own private balcony area, also managed to meet the subways, a&a and DG's best mate and sister in the bar after their respective performances - not the man himself (nor the rest of the band for that matter) but still im fairly jealous!

Damn gutted I didn't go now, the tickets I got offered came with bands to get into the pavilion :o Free booze! :(

I've seen the Foo's every time they've played Manchester since they were formed. I had low expectations as the last time we saw them at the MEN, they were very poor. However, this was by far the best I've ever seen them play. It was an absolutely blinding set and the atmosphere was more akin to an electronic/ dance festival, than your standard rock crowd.

Very impressed indeed.
