Hey guys, after using winamp for god knows how many years, i switched to Foodbar after doing sound quality tests between both, and Foobar sounded the best, but theres not a lot of options within this program, so does anyone have any decent plugins or something for this, to enhance it somewhat..thanks

Firstly, from the foobar faq:

Foobar said:

* A: No. Most of “sound quality differences” people “hear” are placebo effect (at least with real music), as actual differences in produced sound data are below their noise floor (1 or 2 last bits in 16bit samples). Foobar2000 has sound processing features such as software resampling or 24bit output on new high-end soundcards, but most of other mainstream players are capable of doing the same by now.

So that might just be the placebo effect there.

Secondly, there's billions of options in the preferences screen. What sort of 'options' or 'plugins' are you looking for?

I was thinking the same plus why change when something works as good as winamp does?

Memory usage, the ability to customise the app heavily the way you wish. Loads of reasons.

Foobar is great, just takes a while to get it setup how you like.

Look for ColumnsUI, great mod

yea basically it seems a better all round player, i actually prefer this foobar to winamp already, just i want enhance the player, in abilitys to display information, down to playback options and other things like that.

can you not just copy the folder of foobar and send it 2 someone so they dont have to edit, or is it an app the installs etc

yes i think copying folders is fine, as its the same version, all all registry files will still be the same.

Can anyone help my feeble mind set up the album art plugin for Foobar? I downloaded it and stuck it in the Components folder, and while it shows up in the list of installed components, there's no sign of it anywhere else in the preferences and I can't figure out how to get anything to display...
