So inspired by the Man vs Food thread, what contests or challenges have YOU done?

Today, I'm going to see how quickly I can eat a 14" pizza. I've never done any kind of speed eating before so it should be interesting to see what time I can get. I've always been a big eater so I reckon I can get a pretty decent time.

Nice.

Omg, I don't think I want to see a pizza for a few days....

The overcooked crusts killed me..

Definitely have a bigger memory card in there next time as well... I ran out of memory JUST as I said 'Thanks for watching. Bye' haha. I would've have cried if it didn't record the whole thing.

Me eating 6 pot noodles in 6 minutes and 12 seconds :D

Did you wait for it to cool down before you attempted the challenge? My biggest problem whenever I've eaten a Pot Noodle (maybe 2 in my lifetime) is that they're so blooming hot and you end up with a scalded chin where the noodles drip!

PS Totally didn't imagine you looking like that - it's strange how you imagine the way people look from the things they say!

Yeah, you always do, otherwise it's not so much of how quickly you can eat but how quickly does the food cool down! :p

Decided to do another pizza challenge today. Only a 10" but finished it off in 2:25 minutes which is better than I was expecting!

The Dagwood. Inspired by Man vs. Food my flat mate and I attempted it as it looked like one of the more manageable meals which he conquers.

Just raided the supermarket deli for some cuts of meat. I think there was;
Honey Roasted Ham
Roast Turkey
Stuffed Pork
Chorizo slices
and Chorizo Coated chicken
Lettuce and cheese plus a few layers of garlic mayo and on half a loaf of bread cut lengthways.

Its rare for me not to see something that tempting and not feel hungry, but ive had a decent lunch today for once !

Those MvF Sandwiches are ludicrous and yours is way up there ! nice

I did a spicy chicken wings challenge. 6 wings in 3 mins.

Was very difficult. Didn't help that I managed to get it all over my cheeks as well :/ which burned for a good 3 hours.

My friend (who generally is better with hot food than me) managed 2 and a half then give up. The table next to us managed half if even then chucked it in.

I must try this at home!

Did a burger challenge at a pub called The Plough in Llandegla a few weeks ago called The Herd Burger

W3TWX.jpg

Its 5 6oz burgers, chili, onion rings, salad and chips. 45 minutes to finish. The burgers were thankfully really nice, but the time limit did it for me, with only half of a burger left. Could have done with 10 minutes more. I failed!

One of the greatest sandwiches ever made -
800g tiger loaf sliced horizontally, spread with melted garlic butter
2 cooked chickens stripped
2 onions fried in butter
A little mayo on the chicken
A whole bottle of barbecue sauce
A block of cheese melted in top

Ate the whole damn thing, then preceded to clutch my stomach and scream MAKE IT STOP! about an hour later when I realised how full I was. Worth it though.

Done the 5lb kebab challenge
Imagine a disposable BBQ tray, you get one of those jammed completely full of meat. Doner, chicken doner, shish, chicken shish, kofte etc.
2 pitta breads, 1lb of chips, a big old salad with loads of coleslaw and a can of drink.
Done that multiple times.

Also done a majorly hot curry challenge. Can't remember what it was called.
Essentially it contained a handful of scotch bonnets and 4 bhut jolokia, seeds and all. No drinks during the challenge, just clean the bowl, sauce an all.
I took the first bite and wanted to kill myself, tears streaming down my face, bright red, slow breathing. I shovelled it in, bite after bite "I refuse to pay" or "Ohhh rfush dapa" is more accurate to what I said halfway through. Finished it, got it free and a cold pint of cobra, beer has never tasted so good.
The next day I was convinced I was going to start bleeding from my back passage.

It's not really a feat of consumption but I have a certificate for completing the Harry Ramsdens Challenge a good 15 years or so ago! I was 12 (I think) when I did it.

Reminds me of this:

http://www.thedilshad.co.uk/the-inferno-the-hottest-curry-in-uk/

I didnt eat the whole thing, bought one for the whole table to try. We all had to sign a disclaimer before we could eat it.

I wouldn't recommend it, I like it hot but theres hot and theres stupid hot.
Hottest I like to go is a bit of daves insanity or mad dog 357 on a burger/ ribs or something, even then you only need a tiny bit.

Not me, my little brother put away a foot and a half long 2.2 kilo burrito in under 5 1/2 minutes at some Mexican place in Glasgow, I believe he's their current record holder. I don't know how he puts it away, he'd eaten a couple hours before deciding to take on their challenge too.
