There's 3 of us staying on Sussex Gardens tonight before a job tomorrow - any recommendations of some cheap 'n cheerful food in the area? Chain or not a chain, don't mind.

Pub grub in a pub would be nice for some drink too!

Thanks in advance.

If you like kebabs theres plenty of choice on edgeware road like fatoush etc.
A good pub in the area is the sir alexander fleming which is just off sussex gardens
On sussex gardens, theres the monkey puzzle as well.

Are you staying in wilson house by any chance?

It's about a half hour walk, not too far on a tube, but look into MEATLiquor. The grog is particularly good from an alcohol basis.

It's a bit weird inside (google it for decorations), and very loud, and generally is very American style food. If that's what you're into however, it could be great :)

Food wise:
Satay House is a pretty good malaysian
The Heron is supposed to be the best thai food in London but I haven't been and it looks a bit.. odd
Pearl Liang - good dim sum and peking duck

Drinks:
Warwick Castle in Little Venice is a good bet

I've not been to MEATLiquor, but was at MEATMission (same chain, but this one's in Hoxton Square) last night and can highly recommend their burgers.
They've just added Hippie Fries to their menu, which we tried last night and are very good.

Yeah, I've been to Monkey Puzzle and it's pretty nice.

Would also recommend The Prince of Wales, 2 Cleveland Terrace, W2 6LH. Does nice Mongolian food, although I haven't been for a while, but assume it's still doing the same thing.
