I'm looking to buy a food processor but got no idea which makes are good. I'm thinking about a budget of about £100 but could go a bit higher if it will be worth the money.

I'm off from work in the weekend and was thinking to pop into Debenham's or John Lewis in town to have a look but wanted to get some suggestions from here first.

£100 is enough for the likes of Kenwood and Philips, it’s not enough for the better brands like Magimix and KitchenAid. You need to stretch to £200 for those, but they’re built like tanks with superb and powerful motors that make chopping tough foods a breeze. The cheaper ones tend to overheat when pushed too hard as well.

The Magimix 3200 is an excellent processor but it’s double your budget.

At the moment I'm living in a shared flat near to work so that is why I don't want to spend too much. I saw a Bosch processor for a little under £100 and they are a decent make aren't they? I will mostly use it for food prepping (vegetables mainly) so not sure how strong motor I would actually need.

Bosch are good. Their stuff is very good quality. We have a washing machine from them that’s still as good as new 14 years later.

Veg chopping is one of the easiest tasks tbh, it’s when you get to doing stuff like chopping steak that the powerful motors come into their own.

I'm planning to pop into the various shops in town on Friday or Sunday when I'm off to have a look at what they offer and have a closer look.

I prefer cutting the meat with a knife (never tried a food processor for that).

prepping vegetables for what kind of dishes ?
imhop chopping board fulfills most needs ... I would not want an obliterated mirepoix/holy-trinity ... and I only use food processor for pastry.

hint: keep an eye on warehouse deals.
