Hi guys, not sure if there is a thread for this, or even if I'm in the right section, but how much do you roughly spend on a weekly shop? And what is it you mainly buy?

I have the idea that If I do the shopping for me and the mother, it will come to roughly the same amount that I give her in rent. (she barely eats anything so basically it's just for me)

I was thinking around £125 a month.

Dooable? Opinions?

Me and the boyfriend spend around £70 a week at the supermarket. That includes things like toilet roll, shampoo, bin bags, cat food etc. For us I reckon around £60-£65 on food alone.

We do eat well, like to buy fresh stuff and usually contains a fair bit of meat and fish. We tend to buy brands rather than own-brand stuff too.

Certainly possible if you plan ahead.
But I generally don't and when I don't 10-15 a day. By the time you add a few drinks at work, then fresh meat most days and what ever else it builds up scarily fast.

I keep trying to plan ahead, make large portions and freeze and it does work out so so much cheaper. But never keep it up.
