Football

Some things will just never work,

VR footie is one of those things.

Yeah, soccer will never work until there is full body tracking. So you can actually(pretend) kick a ball. The first soccer game that came out for VR you had to use your arms to run and kick the ball. It was daft to be honest.

However, this game doesn't look too bad. As a total package for reactions and timing, as well as some fitness, it looks ok and at least they tried to put some fun into training. I bought a game called Reakt Performance Trainer. It does the same kind of thing, but it's much too serious and I get bored very quickly whenever I play it.

I would think that adding a simple VR position tracker that goes around your ankle on a velcro strap (or even over your foot) could make a big difference. Of course this assumes that the system can manage input from 4 sources, as you would still be using the hand controllers for most functions.

I'd love a VR football game you just play like normal Fifa/Pes. Locked on the stadium camera position but obviously you can look around from left to right to follow the action.

Like Moss, only you're controlling players on a pitch.

I'd like to see an Olympic Games VR experience where you could do sports that you'd otherwise never experience.... a bit like Daley Thompson's Decathlon from dayz gone by

Football locomotion sounds frightening
