Footer issue in word help!?

Writing an essay and apparntly I have to include referances in the footer of each page where they occour. I have no idea how to make them unique on each page (obviously I dont want referances on page 2 to appear on page 10).

Help?!

Sounds like you need footnotes. Place the cursor at the end of the sentence/paragraph you need to reference then open the Insert menu and select Footnote from the Reference sub-menu.

Check that the drop-down next to the Footnotes radio button is set to "Bottom of page" then click Insert.
