Greetings

I recently got helphire involved regarding a non fault accident as the insurance companies were dragging their feet. All was good to start with, car picked up quick enough, hire car arrived asap etc etc. The car has been assessed as a write-off but helphire are now telling us that we have to deal directly with our insurers to get the cheque. Our insurers are saying that because helphire are involved its nothing to do with them either, and we now need to go through the third party insurer who now needs to also send out an assessor.

Is this standard practise? Id heard good things about Helphire, but this is a complete mess at the moment.

Cheers

Firstly this is NOTHING to do with your insurer - as you are not using them to handle the claim.

So.. contact the third party insurer. They'll deal with you quickly and efficiently.

Aye, thats what we eventually got out of them. But for some reason Helphire said because we were fully comp our insurers have to deal with it. If we were just third party they themselves would take it on

Cant work that out considering the third party has already accepted liability, so the fact we are fully comp is irrelevant.

Damn insurers :)

I looked into using Helphire when my car got hit whilst it was parked outside our house.

However, in the end, the 3rd party's insurance dealt with everything very swiftly. They got me a like for like hire car within 1 day, and I received a full payout within 3 weeks, and the offer was reasonable!
