The only thing that possibly are a little annoying are the fanboy stuff.
Console section as normal is bad for that - and the GPU section is becoming tiring with the same "the 9800 GTX is a great price at the moment" when they are refering to the 8800 GTS. But then it isn't as bad as a few years ago when the X1800 and the 7800 series were released.
RTM is there for a reason, and mods can not be expected to catch every single thing that is wrong, there are to many threads and replies. If in doubt RTM the offending post and you rest assured that if there is something "spammy" or "offending" in the eyes of the mod team it will be nuked.

That's the same everywhere on the entire internet. You can hardly blame GD-ers for that.
To be fair it's not a case of blaming GD'ers, or RTMing loads of posts. Perhaps a bit of self moderation and less taking for granted of the forums & bandwidth that Spie has to pay for might not be a bad thing. The mods do a great job but have better things to do with their time than to read and moderate every "i'm bored" thread.
Silly, light hearted, weired and funny posts are what GD has always been about. We could just do without the volume of the posts which really come down to the poster spamming post count or just plain pointless gibberish.
Like I say, just my 2c worth but it's been noticably worse of late, and not just in GD.

Well in my own experience as a forum admin, it's impossible to please everyone. Hell it's difficult to please anybody. I wish people only made intelligent, well-written posts at my place, but I get a ton of people from non-English speaking countries and have to tolerate lots of spammy rubbish. I do this because I know that if I start banning people and clamping down too strictly then it would lose it's popularity, and the staff would get a reputation for being "nazi's".
It's not entirely different here. This place is well-balanced. So sometimes you just have to put up with the crap, and maybe even try to enjoy it.

Maybe you should read the post properly before you troll.
a) I never said no one starts intelligent threads, I said the signal to noise ratio seemed to me to be noticably slipping the wrong way.
b) I thought I had just started an intelligent debate, well at least it was until the troll turned up.
That post is a great example of what I mean, you had three options (or more).
