I need for linux the following just run of the mill easy to use programs.

Graphics software for producing posters, and product labels, it must be capable of importing images from a digital camera.
DTP software for producing newsletters.
An accounts package.
An Address Book to hold all his clients and suppliers contact details.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated

Must be all free

The GIMP is pretty good and can probably do most of this. Digital cameras can be accessed straight from Linux and copied that way, or I think GTKam (GTKcam?) can do that too.

DTP software for producing newsletters. - Open Office Writer is probably good for this.

An accounts package. - Gnucash, Kmymoney... there's a few to choose from.

An Address Book to hold all his clients and suppliers contact details. - Pass. Evolution can probably do it, but I don't use anything like that.

I normally use a combination of Inkscape and Gimp. I find Inkscapes very useful for graphics -- its svg (scalable vector graphics) based so can easily be resized. I did an A3 poster a few months ago.. which recently i printed at A0 without any pixelation or extra work.
