Bit rapid, shame Rover didn't advertise the land speed record

This heavily modified MG XPOWER ZT-T is the current holder of the world land speed record for an estate car. Having been constructed by So-Cal Speed Shop and code named X-15, this ZT-T reached a top speed of 225.609mph on its final run at the 55th annual Bonneville Speed Week Nationals in August 2003, driven by a Bonneville veteran, Pat Kinne.
It contains a 6.0-Litre EFi Ford SVO V8 Engine by Rousch Racing which develops circa 765bhp

The car rolls on 15" Taylor Made Wheels with 'Moon Disc' Covers which are shod with Goodyear Eagle Land Speed Tyres

Are Goodyear Eagle Land Speed Tyres made from moon cheese?

You don't know what moon discs are?

:/

Flat, spun aluminium discs that clip-on, screw-on or are fastened with Dzus fasteners to the wheels to make them more aerodynamic.

Must-haves on the Salt Flats.

BTW Moon are an awesome company...Someone has a Moon cams sig on here (can never remember who though :/) and I'd quite like a moon eyes logo tattoo...

Yea, I read about those in various Hot-Rod and tuning mags, but hardly public eye.

At most points though, I thought they were privately owned but obviously this wasn't the case.

Saw the auction on the NSRA website a few weeks back too.

Built in 1997 by MG Competitions to compete at the Bonneville Salt Flats in August 1997. Driven by Terry Killborne from the USA the car achieved a top speed of 217.4mph.
It is fitted with a 1400K Series, 329 bhp Engine Driving through a PGI 5-Speed Close Ratio Gearbox

Holy moly, this car must have some amazing aerodynamics work for the car to break 200mph with 329bhp. Damn good work.

if anyone's going and onr of the MGF induction kits comes up, I will buy it form you if it's a decent price. I just wish i had time to get up there :(

lots of 1.8 heads all crying out for porting and polishing, superchargers, Ap rotors all sorts of stuff in there.

Should be fun with a lot of money for someone. There are some nice seat sets there for those rally projects and hundreds of trmac and gravel rally tyres.
