Once you have 250 posts i think it is this number needed; you can sell your unwanted parts and other stuff in the members market. So either gain 250 posts by contributing decent posts or sell on the bay.

For Sale Forum & Wanted Forum Rules

Disclaimer

Please remember that OcUK can accept NO responsibility whatsoever for any deals done on this Forum. All transactions are private between the buyer and seller.

3. Advisory

5. Problem Deals

1. General

The Member's Market (MM) is for the use of all OcUK Forum Members to enable them to buy and sell:

a) Their own, personal, second-hand COMPUTER RELATED ITEMS.

b) Their own, personal, second-hand non-computer related items that might legitimately be discussed in the following OcUK Forums:

- PC & Console Games

- Photography & Video

- DVD, Home Cinema & Hi-Fi (Car audio equipment is not allowed, and neither is the selling of Audio CDs)

The sale of copied games or other software, no matter how stated or implied, is not permitted, neither is the sale of OEM software. Chipped games consoles are also not allowed to be sold in the MM.

NO OTHER ITEMS ARE TO BE OFFERED OR SOLD within the MM.

Past experience has shown that those who attempt to use the MM Forums without making themselves aware of the MM Rules do not learn from a simple, advisory, email. As a result, all transgressions of the mandatory MM rules will result in a 48 hour suspension. A second transgression will result in a one week suspension. A third transgression will result in all access to the MM Forums being permanently removed.

Members trashing the threads of others, with no intention of buying or making a sensible offer, will have their MM access removed permanantly.

2. Mandatory MM Rules

Include the following in the OPENING POST in the For Sale forum:

a) A price and

b) If offering multiple items or whole computers and you do not wish to split - then say so. Otherwise post individual prices.

You are allowed a MAXIMUM of TWO threads in each of the MM Forums at any one time.

NO MOBILE PHONES

Do not post derisory offers. Do not ask for packages to be split. Keep such comments and offers for email correspondence.

NO THREAD BUMPING WHATSOEVER - No disguised bumping. If a post is considered by the MM Dons to be a disguised bump then a bump it is.

A price change post may be made BUT NOT WITHIN the first 24 hours of the start of the thread, and then not for 24 hours since the previous price drop.

A bump will now also include people who just "Register interest" in goods a member is selling in the MM. This is so we can stop arguments between buyers getting too far.

Do not re-post items that appear in existing threads.

NO FAO POSTS WHATSOEVER - This is a Forum – not a chat room. Use email.

NO YGM posts no matter how worded!!! (That's short for 'You've got mail' for those who claim not to know the most common TLA on the net)

No threads to 'Test' for sale. You either have the goods for sale - or not.

Links to or mention of OcUK competitors or auction sites is strictly forbidden – even in disguised form.

Do not commence a selling thread unless you have full title to all goods being sold in that thread. This means that you do not sell on behalf of a friend. This also means that you do not sell goods to which you do not yet own or possess. Anyone caught attempting to sell goods which they do not have in their possession or do not own will be banned.

If you are not buying then DO NOT POST in a thread. The SELLER has the right to advertise what he or she deems to be a product at a reasonable price.

DO NOT post For Sale threads unless you are able to immediately dispatch the goods.

Trades/Swaps are not allowed in the For Sale Forum. You may place a Wanted thread in the Wanted Forum clearly indicating the item that you seek. Do not ask ‘WHY’ (What have you) or similar.

3. Advisory

All Threads will be deleted SEVEN days after the date of the last post.

Thread starters are asked to indicate when a thread is no longer required by simply going to "Forum Tools" and selecting Close Thread. The MM Dons can then search for closed threads and then remove them.
IF THIS FEATURE IS ABUSED, YOUR MM ACCESS WILL BE REMOVED

4. Guidelines

These Guidelines are provided to help you enjoy the facility that is the MM in relative safety. Ignore them at your peril

As soon as you and another party strike a deal then immediately exchange emails providing both parties with the following information:

Recommended
1. Full Name
2. Full Address and Postcode
3. Telephone Number (NOT Mobile)
4. Confirmation of details of the trade
5. Payment Method
6. Clearly state your understanding of when you expect the money or goods to be sent

Optional
1. Preferred and alternative email addresses
2. Mobile Number(s)

Print out or make a note on paper of the contact details of the above details. It is not unheard of for people to lose such information stored on a PC due to a virus or hard drive failure.

Should there be any delay in completion then both party’s will have full contact details to hand.

Please do NOT approach the MM Dons for assistance if you have neglected to take the most rudimentary precautions mentioned here.

You are strongly advised to consider setting up either a NOCHEX or a FASTPAY account. Such methods are extremely easy and quick to use and they speed up the whole process for the benefit of both buyer and seller.

5. Problem Deals

If you are having problems concerning a trade, such as not receiving goods or money, then consider the situation very carefully before taking your next action. DO NOT POST ON THE FORUM with a complaint or a whinge.

Have you allowed sufficient time? Many have been embarrassed due to complaints or comments made only to later find that the sender has been in hospital or otherwise genuinely removed from web access. It happens.

If you have followed the ‘Trading Guidelines’ then you will have the other party’s full name, address, email and telephone number. Attempt contact by these means first. If necessary, write to the other party by recorded delivery.

If you continue to have genuine and continuing problems with a trader then inform one of the MM Dons, by email, providing FULL information concerning the trade, the other party, what was agreed and any contact from the other party. The MM Dons may be able to help but nothing is promised. It is most important that you advise the Dons of problems – you may not be the only person experiencing such problems involving the other party.

If the matter cannot be quickly resolved following notification to the Dons (or the Dons have already learned of problems concerning this individual) then the Dons will consider suspending the account of the other party until such time that all outstanding trades have been satisfactorily completed. The decision to lift account suspension will be taken by the MM Dons in conjunction with Spie and their decision will be final.

6. Traders

The MM Forums are for the use of private individuals to buy and sell their own personal property. Commercial Trading, i.e. buying and selling of items specifically for profit, is strictly prohibited. Anyone buying and/or selling excessive quantities of items will be deemed to be Trading and they will be banned from all OcUK Forums.

Under no circumstances are Traders/Firms/Companies allowed to conduct their business on the OcUK Forums. Failure to comply with this rule will result in an immediate ban from the OcUK Forums.

The practice of Bulk Purchasing & Reselling through the For Sale forum is unacceptable. Such threads will be removed on sight and without further explanation. Bulk buying is not tolerated on this site and as such is deemed as trading. If, however, you have a genuine reason for wanting to sell a surplus of kit then you should contact either one of the Forum Dons or Spie via e-mail stating your reasons.

If you are unsure about anything then please ask one of the MM Dons beforehand – by email.

These Member’s Market Rules are to be read in conjunction with the Board Rules (behind the FAQ button). These rules may be added to or amended at any time.

The decision of the MM Dons is final. Lengthy discussion by email will not be entered into.

If you disagree with the handling of a Forum matter by one of the Member's Market Dons or otherwise have a complaint then you are asked to email the forum admins - [email protected].

Members Market?

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/faq.php?faq=vb_user_maintain#faq_vb_use_cookies

The members market is provided as a free service to active and contributing forum members. OcUK are not liable for any deals that are done in the Members Market, you are free to buy and sell at your own risk. Please read the rules of the Members Market before you proceed to make your first sale.

Access to the Members Market forum requires two things. Firstly, you will need to have over 250 posts and have been signed up for at least 90 days. Please note that this does not mean you spam the forums simply to increase your posts, as this action will result in posts being deducted, and if you continue this behaviour, your account will eventually be banned/suspended. Once you reach 250 posts, you will need to activate your trust. This is either found in your UserCP, or you can press the trust button that appears at the bottom of all your posts.

Once you satisfy both of these criteria, Members Market access will be granted within 24hrs. Please do not post on the forums asking why you cannot access the members market, if you have any queries, email one of the forum Dons/Admins. The contact addresses are available in the FAQ.

The guys above have explained everything, but just thought I'd pop in and say they're correct, the only sales allowed are in the Member's Market which you don't yet have needed postcount and time as a member.

Once you have, activate your trust account by clicking the trust button under one of your posts. Once thats sorted an admin will enable your account when they get a chance.
