Like many people I like customizing my rig and although my EVGA SC 780 looks awesome I wanted to finish it off with a backplate, Now I know EVGA do their own but lets face it, They are quite plain.
I finally found a guy in Portugal who does custom backplates for all cards, Nvidia and AMD.

I ordered my 780 backplate and it came roughly 7 days later in the post, Bearing in mind I live in the UK.
This is a photo of the backplate on my 780, He has quite a few design choices.

The guys name is coldzero and he has done work for people on this forum, I am in no way affiliated with Coldzero but thought I would share his work as it's second to none in terms of quality and design, If you want to find him just type coldzero into google as I am not allowed to link to another store because OCUK fears it might lose it's precious money givers :P j/k j/k

How easy are these to install, and do they provide any measurable thermal benefits to the cards?

They look cool as hell and seemed to be reasonably priced.

Really really easy to install, You do need the correct screw driver size for your GPU but that's about it, Took me with unscrewing, Placing the spacers and installing the card about 5 minutes and that was with me being careful and taking my time :)
There are zero thermal benefits but there is a 2mm gap between the card and the PCB so it will not retain any heat.
