Just found this article:

http://www.nature.com/news/2006/060313/full/060313-4.html

http://www.redherring.com/Article.a...Virus&sector=Industries&subsector=Biosciences

Basically, using a supercomputer, scientists have modelled, on a molecular scale, a virus.

To some of you, this will be very impressive, to others, unimpressive.

Since I have been reading about nantotechnology, transhumanism and the singularity, this is cool stuff!

(Has anyone read 'Permutation City' by Greg Egan?)

For anyone wondering what the heck I'm on about, try starting here:

then go here:

http://www.singinst.org/

then read some books, like 'Engines of Creation - The coming Era of Nanotechnology' by Eric Drexler, 'Permutation City' by Greg Egan, 'Great Mambo Chicken and the Transhuman Condition' by Ed Regis and 'Godel, Escher, Bach, an eternal golden braid' by Douglas R Hofstadter (a bit heavy, but if you're into logic, you'll like it).
