This isn't an evaluation post, but how many of you have decided to sell your personal collections and how did you go about it? ( Did you price every game up etc ). Thing is I have all these Playstation 1 games, Playstation 2 games, Ps1 and a PS2 and tons of Xbox originals. But I never play them, nor do I really enjoy the Playstation or XBOX. My heart is set on the Amstrad, the Amiga and the Mega Drive/Master system. Always preferred the 2D - The 8bit and the 16bit!

Basically I've been umming and arring about it, but I think it's time to stick to what I love!

Massive collection of MD. SMS. GG and some ps1 too. except for a few things it was all boxed and complete.

One of the saddest photos I ever took. Massive regret ever since but it was an unfortunate necessity at the time. I literally made up a number that seemed like an OK value and took an offer close to it. When we met to do the sale I asked if he was a collector and he replied "nope its all getting listed on ebay" :( :( :(

TLDR: Dont do it

:( That's heartbreaking. Genuinely.

Best money is in pricing it all up. I use ebay, buy it now, uk only, sort from cheapest to get ok prices and put my stuff about there.

If you simply want rid, do it as bulk... but you will likely get much less.

This is what I did.

I was semi forced into selling my collection. Needed the money to buy the freehold on our house and my collection was an asset I could live without.

I don't regret it either as I hardly play any games of any era now. Plus my collection was just gathering dust really. And I actually spent money on something worthwhile.

But if I fancy a blast from the past I just use emulation.

I keep thinking about thinning down to the systems I actually have a place in my heart for, so you aren't alone.

Same goes for PC stuff, I have a load of other bits i think are going to end up on here or eBay at some point.

There are bits I will never part with and actually my other half wouldn't let me which is rather nice to know :)

I took most of my old systems to charity shops, hopefully some destitute kids got a lot of joy out of them like I once did.

I now kind of regret not holding onto the N64 with a played to death Goldeneye and a pristine barely used Gamecube but I doubt I'd have used them much anyway, it's more nostalgia than anything.
