For those with eyefinity. Do you regret it?

I've just bought a 32" led tv and i'm seriously thinking about getting another 2 of the same to make an eyefinity setup. I mainly play racing games and shooters (fps, 3rd person shooters) with the odd company of heroes thrown in here and there. The problem is, i can't help but see it as a bit of a fad and will quickly get used to it and get kinda bored if that makes any sense.

For the gamers that have this setup, what's your opinion on it? Do you think it's awesome and wouldn't be without it for the rest of your life? Have you got used to it and the novelty worn off, or have you played on one and would love your own one day even if you had to kill your grandma's dog?

Also, what about screen angles? I should imagine a racing game would have the screens at sharper angles to each other so you get the wrap around feeling, but with shooters i would imagine you would want the screens more flatter and inline with each other if that makes sense? What would be the ideal card for such a setup to play games like metro LL at high/ultra settings 5760 x 1080 as well as the next gen of games?

Eyefinity/nVsurround is totally awesome and I'd never be without it.
I tried recently to game on one screen again and it just felt rubbish in comparison.
 
I regret it.

Sooo many games load up and BANG something is completely ruined.
Example: original grid runs fine while you're racing, but in the menu screens the menu is super zoomed in all over the place and I can't see wtf I'm doing.
Example: left 4 dead 2 spans over the screens well but the chat box and the gui elements are at the extremes of the outside monitors (this one is a recurring theme for loads of games)

You have to go to forums like widescreen gaming and download patches / programs / mess around with config files just to get the damn games to work properly.

Not worth the hassle imo.
 
I tried it (though with rubbish 22" AOC monitors) and it wasn't for me. I'd rather a spend the extra on one huge panel myself. Have to say those extra wide monitors that are popping up look tasty, 21:9 is it? Trouble is, once you've had a 1440/1600px high screen, 1080 seems poverty spec :(

Used 2 24's (1920x1200) for a few years, one was for gaming on then I had the 2nd for browsing/videos/chat clients or whatever else I was up to. Thought I'd pick up a 3rd since I was almost there :p

Tried a few games when the whole eyefinity/extended desktop shortcuts wanted to actually work. If anything It was quite enjoyable using cockpit cam on racing games, but nothing else really did it for me. I've gone back to using my central screen for gaming now and just using the side 2 as browsing/chat/music player, It's somewhat overkill. Don't think id miss going back to 2 displays (couldn't manage one, havent used "only one" for about 9 years!)

I think if I had the cash I'd quite like one...no two 30's :p, 2560x1600 yes please!
 
It does add to the immersion or at least it did for me. You do need to be prepared to fiddle with ini's and third party programs though. If you don't like tinkering then very few games work 100% out of the box.
 
I tried it, 3x 1920x1080. In some games it was brilliant. Far Cry 2 and Batman AA/AC -both were damn fun like that.

Dirt2 was obviously awesome - racing games just love the wrap around.

Other genres, strategy/MMO - ugh. Horrible.

In the end I swapped back to just one screen for gaming, and 2 screens for general use.
Thinking of going for one of the new gen of 2500x1440 screens in a 29" size though, as I do miss the big screen feeling.
 
I love my eyefinity. It's great for shooters, you can see more of what's going on, which can only be a good thing.

In terms of racing I've played Grid 2 and it's excellent. Checking out the map can be a bit of a pain (it's all the way bottom left) but as soon as you learn the tracks, its better where it is.

I much prefer 3 screens to dual as well. I'm much more productive with 3. I'd like a couple more. :)
 
I'm running 3x 2713HM in surround and would never go back to single screen gaming. I use three screens all the time and love the fact that I can have multiple apps open whilst I work/browse etc.

I admit that there is some messing around to get some games working but with the apps I got from the Widescreen gaming forum I can get most things to work and most new games I've tried have support built in.

7960x1440 is where it's at ;):D:D
 
I've had 3 screens for a while, but it's mainly for productivity with the amount of apps I have open to work with, now and again ti's fun to throw it into triple screen, which is rather easy on Nvidia just with win+p to switch between extended/projector. Some games have terrible support, more games are being released with support at least, racing games are great fun in triple screen, other genres I prefer to just do single screen at 114hz, because my 2nd/3rd monitors only do 60, so FPS is generally single screen, more casual relaxed/coop end up triple.
 
I regret getting dual monitors, my desk is too small for it to really be any good :/

I was planning on adding a third but stupidly I didn't check to see if x3 24" monitors would fit on my desk. Two is kinda useless to me as I mostly play games.

Wish I got 1 big screen like a 27" or HDTV even.
