For [TW]Fox! VXR Track day for £95!

Sounds pretty good really, I've been having impure thoughts about the Astra VXR recently and may get one come insurance renewal time in August/September. Shall mull this over this weekend!

No,

Track day sessions are £95 per head and you will be required to pay by credit card.

In order to book a session, you must read the terms and conditions carefully, which includes the below:

* You must be over 21 years of age.
* You must be in possession of a current full (not provisional) driving licence for a manual vehicle, issued by the UK DVLA or the national licensing authority of a non-UK country in which you reside.
* You must be able to produce the original (not photocopied) complete driving licence (including identity card and counterpart) for inspection on the day of the event.
* You must be in good health and not suffering from any disability that may affect your ability to participate.
* You must have eyesight that meets at least the minimum standard required by law for driving.
* You must not be on any drugs (prescribed or otherwise) that may affect your ability to participate.
* You must not be pregnant and do not suffer from, or have any history of epilepsy or any other medical condition that may affect your ability to drive and participate.
* You must complete both circuit and GM indemnity forms on arrival
* Wear seat belts and helmets (provided) when engaging in track activity

Hi there

So let me get this right?

For £95.00 you get 90 minutes of track time at your choice of track in several different VXR models, does it include Monaro?

Then you get a further 90 minutes of handling and special moves?

They provide helmet and fuel along with lunch?

If so £95.00 is a bargain and I am gonna book both Donnington and Oulton Park. :D :D

Think I will go for morning sessions, anyone else up for it? Could maybe get lots of OcUK users going for it so it turns out to be just mainly OcUK members thrashing VXR's around for the morning. :D

What happens if you were to crash though?

I cant have them claiming off my policy ;)

Hi there

In the T&C's section 9 mentions this:-

9. i) Except for injury or death due to negligence on the part of VML and/or the test track facility during the Event, I confirm that I (and that I am authorised on behalf of my Company (where applicable)) to indemnify VML and/or the track facility, their staff, agents and contractors against any loss (consequential loss or loss of profit) or damage, however caused, (including rectification or repairs to such property and any evaluation vehicles) during the Event, if in the sole judgment of VML such damage has been caused by dangerous driving, negligence, failure to observe safety requirements or failure to comply with the Event regulations relating to VML and/or the test track facility referred to above, and shall hold VML or the test track facility harmless in respect of damage sustained by me or to my property or my Company arising out of the Event.

ii) Hand held mobile phones must not be used nor any hands-free device relating thereto when driving an evaluation vehicle.
VML insurance is for 3rd Party Risk only.

So I am guessing if they deem you crashed for dangerous driving then they make you pay, is that right?

"You break it, you buy it"

The key phrase is

...if in the sole judgment of VML such damage has been caused by dangerous driving...

It's very tempting for £95 and the day at Brands would be very convenient...

Think I am going to do this. I have wanted to do a trackday for a while now and this seems perfect.

I am a similiar distance to both Thruxton and Brands Hatch. Which track would you guys recommend?

Edit: just seen you need to be 21 :(
