just to let u guys know had a problem with monitor asus pw201 was blinking on and off randomly with my new ati 4870 x2

so thought fault was with the card after up grading to i7 from q6600 @ 3.8 Ghz still same fault changed monitor because friend wanted a bigger monitor and i wanted a acer G24 and guess what no blinking problem solved:D

in all of this i found out my game preformance is still the same mind u the drivers are now better also

1. 550 watt supply wil run a q6600 @ 3.8 Ghz and 4870 x2 with out any problems plus 5 drives and watercooling stable

2. 4870 x2 will run fine in 1.1 PCIE unless u a benchmarking freak:eek:

so unless ur computer blows up or u still using an athlon id wait to up grade till at least the end of the year when prices will be so much nicer:D

Not but its pancake day, I have lemon AND sugar on mine.

If I'm feeling really flash I put nutella chocolate spread in too. :D

I actually still don't get the point of this thread other than to lure me into the thread because of the title all in capitals.

Assumed it would be a 'AMD announce i7 beater' thread.
 
i had the monitor blinking on and off problem with 2 monitors in a row now, both monitors were high res 1080p monitors. This is also with an ATI 4850 card. the problem stops if i knock the res down to 1650x1050

Nutella is just wrong on so many levels. Maple syrup for the win.
 
he is telling us that

1 he has a new monitor
2 550watt psu runs his quad and x2
3 you can run x2 in a 1.1 pcie slot
4 his posts make less sense than mine, although i was able to interperate this due to the ability of being able not to get my point across too :D
 
for those of u that seem to be confused im just saying old tech is still dam good tech only spend the money on the new if u have too

its just amazes me how many of us get sucked into buying new equipment by the manufacturers when what we got already doing a dam good job

and for the sarcastic ones who cant read try it standing on ur head

Well your rig in your sig suggests you've recently spent a lot of money on a cutting edge gaming rig.

So you've been sucked in to i7 and not finding it worth it?

You've got one more upgrade to make. Once you've got a new keyboard, you won't have to write your thread titles IN CAPITALS.
