IMDb gives this 2/10. Yet the comments talk about being repulsed and not being able to watch some of the bits due to the content.
Isn't that part of a horror movie?

If you are a parent - this will shock.

If you are a pet lover - this will shock.

Sure some areas of this film could do with some work but this is sadistic, gruesome, dark and sinister. It's not a gore feast serial killer that you can laugh at the ingenious way the people die. It's not a psychological thriller that brews the horror in your mind. This one is about being able to stand what is being delivered.

Don't pass this one by - have a look. It may surprise you.

I got this out tonight, I'd not read the IMDb before hand and it had me thinking I didn't want to watch bits of it.

I had the misfortune of watching a censored version of this months ago. Usually I woulndn't go near such things but I did promise myself if it was any good, I would treat myself to the uncut dvd later on. All the gore in the world couldn't save this borefest. Inept film making at it's best. Why not pair it up with Far Cry for a truely bad night in :)

The nasty bits are nasty. However the rest of the film is the same as 80% of other horror films.

Now I've not seen a truly great horror film in years. I found holocaust a rather predictable and boring.

Saw this a few years ago at Frightfest, where Boll showed off "Seed" and "Postal".

It's a VERRRRRYYY slow moving film, but I did think it was miles ahead of his usual dreck (same with Postal, which is genuinely funny).

It is only worth watching "Seed" in its uncut format -- I had the displeasure of seeing a cut version and the entire climactic gore scene is excised - absolutely ridiculous.

A lot of it is brutal for brutality's sake, with Uwe saying that this was his "angry" film -- he wrote it while ****** off about his whole career situation and the constant IMDB beratement.

If you're of a weak or sensitive disposition, don't watch it. The opening minutes are PETA footage of dogs and other animals being skinned alive and stood on. The main gore scene is a 10-minute long single-shot exercise of a woman tied to a chair getting her head mashed to a pulp with a hammer as Seed hits her progressively harder.

One particular member of the audience at FrightFest had a right go at Uwe during the Q&A afterwards as he was particularly disgusted by the callous nature of the scene and complete lack of context.

Not a great movie, but uncut it's not a bad one. I found it suitably shocking at points, and the ending is a cracker too.
