iirc the seperation is 2 min between each take off and landing, but i could be wrong, 8 years since i did any air law.

It depends on the route being flown by each aircraft, the speed category of each, the wake vortex category and local procedures. It can be anything from one minute up to ten minutes. There's also the "Heathrow minute" departure separation

Same track, departure route or SID, preceeding aircraft same or faster speed category is 2 mins. I think. I really should know this

I assume 10min will be because of local residents/taxi routes?

Can't imagine a vortex lasting 10min

It is real, I do this on Microsoft flight simulator every night and therefore can fly the real thing and know how easy it is.
