Forbes asked 8Pack some questions...

Interesting stuff. It mentions that 5% of CPU's meat the high standard to be in an 8Pack system and most meet the standard for the other systems. What happens to the ones that dont meat that standard? and what % would you say doesn't make the cut?

They are just used in normal systems, we build a lot of systems on a daily basis, so anything that doesn't make the top 5% then is used in alternative PCs.

Did anyone actually pre-order "8Pack Supernova?"

What do you mean? We have built several and have 3 8Pack systems on the go right now. :)

I was just wondering how well these sell, they look fantastic and if I earned over 100k per year I would be very tempted. :)

They all go into PC builds, because some of our systems are not overclocked.

They do look fantastic but I would doubt the sanity of someone who would go into debt over a computer a couple of things you may need too go into debt on a house or a car but beyond that it would be best avoided. If the chips that don't make the grade are just used in standard systems then is it a given that all the standard systems you build wont overclock or at least not overclock well?

We have some systems that are not overclocked at all, so they will mostly go in there, however, just because it doesn't make it into the 8Pack system it doesn't mean the rest of the chips are not any good, they are just not up to 8Pack's standards which is pretty high!

I was thinking of selling my car for one of these, then I realised my car is only worth 40% of the price of a supernova... :o

Enjoyable read to what goes into the 8Pack systems. Acted as a reminder to put the Euro's on but would want 4 Titan X like Kaap :D

Does this mean that ES are used for 8Pack systems or simply filtered chips that offer the same performance and efficiencies as ES, and what is the typical clocks (4.5-4.7GHz on 5960X) versus volts for a typical 8Pack system with temperatures in mind?

OcUK advising people to help avoid making mistakes with custom colour schemes is a good part of the process for the ultimate rig. Though to help visualise this for the customer and yourselves I'd have thought you could do a render, surely Valkyrie could help with this ;)

Laughed at the 'the eye candy would simply put consoles to shame' - it's almost as if you'd expect that paying 12k..

Intel ES chips are never used. Only retail 5960X we are not allowed to use ES for anything but testing and internal stuff.

Typical 5960X clocks for Supernova are 4.7ghz which is what the system in the pic went out at. 1.325v 72C loaded. DDR4 3200 C15 tuned with 4g+ Uncore.
