i use chrome all day, so instead of opening and closing it all day, is there some way of changing the options so that exiting it will just minimise it to the taskbar?
im thinking an option like:

"exit will minimise"

or something? :)

I run Chrome as a startup program, it's pinned to the Windows taskbar and I have icons in the start menu and desktop so I use Chrome an awful lot. Never considered having it permanently running, it takes ~1 second to load to the most visited page on my mechanical hard drives

Or am I missing something?

I'm not confused as to what you want to do, rather why you want to do it tbh. You'd need a program that could check for the presence of chrome.exe and be able to call it if it isn't running. Alternatively there are tools to make programs run as a service. Can't help with in Windows though

What's wrong with just minimising it instead of opening and closing it repeatedly? Sounds like that would do exactly what you're trying to do, i.e. keep it permanently open.

I keep Chrome open 100% of the time. I don't see the point of closing it and then opening it a few minutes later...
