So i bought a new 850 evo to do a new install of windows 7, so i could erase the intel 750 and use as a second drive.

So went ahead and installed widows 7 on the evo all good until i started to try and do the 200 or so updates.

Left it 7 hours and nothing no updates downloaded.
So started searching about and every one is having the same problem.

Will it be ok to just put windows 10 on to the evo and it will just write over the windows 7 i put on it yesterday?

Cheers

Is this the " Secure Boot Violation " issue after trying to install updates on Win7 ?

I have had this issue all morning...and i think lol..i have fixed it, i had to go into BIOS and disable secure boot , and i was able to get back into windows , i think it maybe a perticuler windows update , but im not sure ..its just a guess

and it seems this issue is very wide spread too

Yes. During the installation stage there will be a step where you can format the drive as well.

Cheers,
Is it ok to format evo ssd's, not used or had on before?

No i just think microsoft have made their severs very slow for support for 7.
