Forceware 171.12 WHQL Vista, 171.17 WHQL XP

I've been having stutter on full screen with mkv's and some AVIs for ages, but i recently downloaded forceware 171.16 for Vista32 and all my problems have been solved. This driver finally make Vista Media Center work properly, and its about time, as its taken a year to make it as good as MCE05.

I used to use DriverSweeper instead of Driver Cleaner Pro, as that used to leave some files behind, and you didn't need to use safe-mode.

Just Add/Remove the drivers, reboot, cancel the Found New Hardware Wizard and run DriverSweeper, select Nvidia Display and use the > at the top to move it into the right hand box, then just click the brush icon to sweep, once done just install your new set. :)

Forgot the link to DriverSweeper :-http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655

So is it driver cleaner or driversweeper? Which do you use loadsa?

In Driver Cleaner Pro i just selected Nvidia, as the WDM drivers were not part of the Display set, they are a seperate download at the Nvidia site, and only for 6-7 series cards, and old geforce2 and FX's. :)

Absoloutely no need to use drivercleaner these days. ATi has an uninstaller and so does NVIDIA now. I just plonk the new ones over the old ones never had issues.

I used to use Driver Cleaner Pro, but then sacked it for Driver Sweeper as it didn't throughly clean, always left stuff behind, Driver Sweeper did a proper job, and you didn't need to faff on going into safe-mode. :)

my problem with driver cleaner was when i selected the clean NVIDIA option it also took off my nvidia chipset drivers:(

Same here, just uninstall via the control panel. Never had a problem. I'd probably only use drivercleaner if I was moving from Nvidia to ATI.
