Forcing game to paly on monitor 2

I am not a huge gamer and tbh only play a couple of games. Far Cry/Tiger Woods 2008.

I have 2 monitor

A CRT (I kbnow :mad:

) running at 1152 x 864 (Monitor 1)
A LCD running at 1024zx768 (Monitor 2)

As you can guess they are not large monitors but they do me fine for what I do.

I would like to force the games to play on monitor 2 - is that possible ?

Just assign monitor 2 as your primary monitor?

Dont want to do that as monitor to maxes at 1024 x 768. I want to keep monitor 1 and primay and play games on secondary.

Might be able to do it as a profile...I've done it before I think, but can't remember exactly how.

I treid using ultramon and set it to open on monitor 2 but that does not seem to work.

I can see how that would work but that would not give the option of hvaing something else running on other monitor

Unless the game gives you the option to select a display adapter ( like sa), then there isn't much you can do except to switch the 2nd screen to be your primary for when you want to play...

anyways try to go into a game's gfx config and there should be 2 display adapters, try to pick the 2nd one if the game allows that and it should switch to the 2nd screen...

When I want to play on my big plasma I just right click--display properties--- and temp change the plasma to primary

only takes 2 secs

^^ this is also my tactic, it takes about as much time as searching for the remote to change my teles channel to my PS3.

Prolly stick to CRT at mo then, I do lose a bit of the screen on the 2nd monitor tho.

Explored a little deeper with Ultra Mon and found a diff settting so I have it working now. Thanks for replies

If it's an ati card, just make a profile that changes the display manager settings.

In Ulramon I right clikc the Icon and tell it to use monitor 2 at a set reolution. I can still move my mouse over to montior one and it minimises and pauses the game for me.
