forcing res in C&C??

Is this possible at all?

I bought myself a wireless keyboard with a joystick on the corner, prety cool to play c&c on my £2" lcd, however cant get it to full screen, is there a way of forcing the game to work in 1280 x 768, there is an option for 760 or something but my monitor wont accept it.

Looks amazing though on the tv, but would prefer it to play in widescreen.

which C&C you talkin about?

i dont know if this works with the new one (i assume it should as it works with every other C&C game lol)

but you just need to edit a .ini file and just manually enter the screen res on that. then as long as you dont change the res in the options of hte game it should just run at this

i've had RA2 running at 2560x1024 across 2 19inch tfts before :D lol just awesome

You do realise EA does C&C now dont you ?

That method was good for the demo, but the shortcut works now. The ini is however, here:

C:\Documents and Settings\#logon name#\Application Data\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Profiles\#profile#

You would put:

Resolution = 1360 768

or whatever at the end of the options.ini file.
 
cheers guys, yeah i meant 32! just getting used to my mini wireless keyboard!

I will give it a go later on, fingers crossed it works, and oh yeah i meant to say it is the new one im on about.

How on earth do you locate this file. I searched for the file using start and search, also tried a search within the EA program file itself and looked in the registry but can find no settings at all to change the res.

Can anyone provide an idiots guide. Thanks.
 
lol. I must be having an off day, I still can't find anywhere to change the res even with show hidden files enabled. What are you guys actually going into?

Actually I have just located the folder by searching for options.ini. Changed the res in notepad to look like this 1360 768 and saved. Started the game but in the resolution box where it lists all the available resolutions it has 1024*768 as the resolution. So my question is has the res changed?

The res listed will be whatever it was last set to. The ini change takes priority though. If you want to test that set it to 640x480 or whatever in settings and you should see it stays at the res in the options.ini file.

DONT go to resolution settings as it will over-ride what you just set.

Just press the info button on your TV remote and it should say resolution/ framerate (ie 50hz, 60hz)
