Ford 5000RDS radio - 4 digit Code?

Hopefully someone here can help.

We had to replace our X-reg Ford car's battery at the weekend as the AA guy came round and said one of the cells died, so he replaced it. Unfortunatly, that then broek the connection with the cars CD/Radio player, and is now asking for this 4-digit code.

Does anyone know how I obtain this code without paying the £5 all the online services are charging & without having to remove the CD/Radio to see the serial number?
 
If no one has told you where to 'aquire' the tools to do it by the end of the day please let me know your stereo serial number and I will sort the 4 digit code for you later when I get home. :)
 
you cant, but its sooo easy to take the headunit out

you need 4 bits of metal [like alankeys] put them in the 4 holes and pull ;)
 
Car Giant, the company we originally bought the car from, gave us the code 9765 to try and use. The thing is, how do we enter that code in? In terms of using the preset buttons (for the radio) at the bottom, it only goes from 1 - 6, so how would we input the code above the number 6?
