So my new car had the battery disconnected for a bit, and now the stereo is asking for a code .... which I cant find in any of the paper anywhere.

Looking online, M codes are easy to find, but my serial starts with V .... and everyone seems to say its a Ford dealer job, and I don't particularly fancy paying a silly amount to get this from Ford.

Is that my only option for this ? :(

If I remember correct they can be obtained from various websites for a few quid using the serial code on the top of the headunit.

Check for a sticker in the glovebox.. I tried the code written down but it didn't work. Turns out it was stuck somewhere on the inside of the glovebox.

Cheers guys, I will rummage around the glove box again to see if I can spot the sticker, if not I may have to work my charms on the Ford dealer woman ;)

I did find an eBay listing that specifically deals with V codes for £3.50 ..... but hes on holiday. Will let you know :)

Spoke to a local dealer, they were more than happy to provide the code over the phone for free, as long as I provided the serial (which i have) and also the exact model number on the sticker on the radio itself (6000CD wont cut it I guess ?). Bit strange they needed that but hey ho, guess I will need some removal keys.

For the record, there's a thread in the Motoring section of MoneySavingExpert where you can request Ford radio codes.
