Got a bit of a strange problem with my car - it's an 07 Ford Cmax and the radio has bluetooth handsfree. Picture of the HU:

A couple of weeks ago, I've noticed two problems, which may be related. Firstly, the bluetooth no longer seems to work. Normally, when I power it on, it connects automatically to my phone and I can scroll through functionality through the 'phone' button. Now, it doesn't attempt to make a connection, and hitting 'phone' just makes the display say 'Audio Muted'.

Second issue is that the 12V sockets inside the car have stopped working.

Before I go and talk to Ford, I thought it'd be worth asking here to see if this is likely to be something that's simple to fix, like a fuse, or a loose connection? Or is it more indicative of a bigger fault?

I experience the first issue when leaving my iPod connected to the aux socket and then starting the engine. Pressing the 'voice' button clears the glitch and all is well again.

The Audio Muted message is normal when you press the phone button on a car without bluetooth, so it looks like the module has died or has no power.

The 12V socket will more than likely be the fuse. I've blown a few on my Mondeo - sometimes a small arc then you plug something in is enough to blow the fuse. It could be that the Bluetooth is fed from same circuit.

Hadn't seen that one, will have a read.

This is what I'm hoping, I'm going to go and have a play around I think. Once it stops snowing.
