Wondering if anyone knows whether a "Tyre Pressure Sensor System" fault code would be able to be cleared by a relatively (up to £70) OBD2 reader please ? 2012 ish Ford Focus

I wasn't sure if would be a fault logged on one of the auxiliary systems rather than the main ECU - and therefore wouldn't be able to be cleared by a normal cheap reader

I think it is an ABS sensor periodically glitching (interestingly this time was right after washing car) - as when I took it to garage last time they read the code, said was one of the ABS sensors but thought was just a glitch, reset it and it lasted 11 months before triggering again. I did ask them to replace it (not that expensive) but they seemed to think didn't need it

Next time in I can get it replaced but in meantime I'd like to clear the fault - hence question please

many thanks

Dependant on the car, sometimes you can just disconnect the battery for an hour and reconnect for it to clear stuff like that.

Otherwise, any generic OBD2 reader should be able to clear that fine.

sorry for delay in answering - thanks very much for the info

I tried a generic reader earlier - and it detected no fault codes :( so nothing to clear

I'll look up forscan thankyou

A generic EOBD reader can only communicate with the EOBD - emission critical part of the engine ECU.

Forscan is the way to go. I'm a master tech and use it myself. - It's easy for a DIYer to use as well - you just need to know how to interpret the data.
