Ford Focus keeps dashboard on for a while ?!?!

I have an 8 month old Ford Focus, not the newest model but one before that.

Whenever I lock the doors the display in the middle of the dashboard stays on for a few minutes to an hour, also the display on the Blaupunkt radio/GPS stays on, is that normal and/or is that a setting I can disable?

Depends on the settings as you say, I think it is changable on the dash menu.
 
my fiesta used to do that, i got worried and waited for it to turn off, i got bored and left it, it did after a while. I think its a ford thing :/
 
I think it might stay on longer if you have been flicking through the options. Ive had it stay on a good 30+ minutes before, whereas usually it turns straight off.
 
I noticed that in my 06 focus too... the dash lights stay on as well as the time on the radio... I thought it was something to do with my parrot.. turns out it's not that so I assumed it was the fact that when I was waiting for the lights to go out and as the key was in the car with me, it was still "mobilized".
 
Yeah that's normal.

Mine also doesn't work in the cold Scottish mornings, if you scroll through all the text gets mangled and you have to wait for the car to warm up a bit!
