Ford Focus MK3 Centre Console Problem

Hi, The centre console buttons which are usually illuminated in blue when the radio is on went off after ignition last night leaving the unit in total darkness (the radio worked fine). I managed to get them back on but the same thing happened this morning.

The Hazzard triangle and the volume button above it [highlighted] are usually illuminated whether the radio is on or off but they too were dark.

Has anyone else experienced this, if so, what was the diagnosis please? Can't find the answer with my Google investigations.

It would be worth looking in the manual and seeing what fuses are for what. Could be that those lights have their own fuse which has blown. If not those front panels are removable so worst case is the board that runs the led's has died. I'd say its probably a fuse though.

software fault regarding the cd,did you have a cd in there at the time if so remove the cd and the lights should come back on

it is a very well known fault on the focus mk3 page there is a software update available for free via ford
